Well, since that hand requires only a 3-2 spade break and a club guess
to make 4S, and its not actually worth a balancing call at the 3-
level, I can't see anything terribly wrong with getting to 4S if I buy
those tickets.

If I hold 16 prime HCP and partner can dig up a balance vul-against-
not at the 3-level, then we will play in a game.
Passing 3S on the advancer's hand is giving up. If you ever see me
pass this hand, please just put me out of my misery.
There are several reasonable bids for advancer to consider:
* 3NT--Change the SQ to the SK and there are 9 tricks off the top.
* 4S--Would be a fine contract opposite: KT9xxx, xx, xx, AQx
* 4C--if this is forcing, its an excellent choice since either 5C or
4S could be cold. The only question is whether 4C should be forcing.
If it is forcing, then advancer has no call in this auction holding:
x, xx, Axx, KJTxxxx.
