Typical night on OKBridge

Board 1: pickup partner, 50-ish Lehman, responded to my one-bid with a weak

jump shift holding AKxxxx x AQxx xx. Pass-pass-pass. Minus a million IMPs 
for missing the laydown spade game.

Board 2: Opponent, who had made an opening bid but passed slowly through 
didn't like the fact that his partner failed to make a limit raise with 
borderline values. Since they had missed game he closed the table without 
even beginning the hand.

Board 3. another pickup partner improved on my partner from the first
hand. 
His weak jump shift only consisted of 10 points. Swish, missing a major
suit 
game nevertheless, and minus another million imps.

Board 4: Never happened because at every open table I visited were seated
a 
good pair having a great game, and an empty seat opposite a punching bag
who 
was down several million imps for the session. The OKBridge version of 
heaven: playing against a moderately low-rated, drunk, incorrigible player

and a succession of frustrated partners.
