I agree completely, at least against reasonable players.  That's what I
was trying to say.   When I played it, I thought the limited 1H and 1S
bids bought me more than the 1C bid cost at MPP.  I'm not sure the
tradeoff would be worth it with other scoring systems.

The big club destroys players who don't know to aggressively preempt
over the 1C opener, because they are failing to take advantage of the
system's biggest weakness.
