I played a precision variant for a while with a partner who really liked
it, and I definitely didn't feel that way.  I never much liked bidding
1C against good opposition who understood this, but the much better
defined suit openers seemed to be a pretty good trade-off when playing
MPP.  

I'm not sure how I'd like the system (against good players) playing IMPs
or rubber/chicago where playing big hands optimally is more valuable
relative to the bread and butter.  

But the biggest advantage big club systems have is against timid
players.  If people aren't willing to preempt aggressively vs. your big
club, precision will *destroy* them.  And at club games, even pretty
good ones, there are always a number of these.
