The management of Bridge Base Online asks its members
to e-mail abuse@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
if they want to re****t
other members for violating the rules of our site.
Occasionally we receive accusations of cheating. When
this happens we look at a bunch of the deals that the
accused has played. If we judge that the evidence is
overwhelming that the accused was cheating, we prevent
them from logging in to our site.
If they try logging in again they receive a message like,
"Your log in request has been refused. Please e-mail
abuse@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
for more information".
If the accused e-mails us we will present the evidence
we have and give them a chance to defend themselves.
I am usually the lucky one who gets the job of examing
the evidence when a cheating accusation is made. I am
responsible for making a final decision in these cases,
but I always consult with my partners and various other
players I respect before taking any action.
We do what we can to promote the proper handling of
cheating accusations (keeping it private, etc.), but these
concepts are not very well understand and/or respected
by a significant percentage of online players. Hopefully
this will change.
I would guess that I see a cheating accusation e-mail
about once a month. In most cases the evidence is
not conclusive. In some cases the accusation is
completely absurd.
I am sure there is a lot more cheating going on that we
don't find out about, but have close to 100,000 members
now and I believe less than 10 people have been barred
for cheating.
