VISIONARY Phase 7
Dictates Challenge Cards
You have the power of perception. As a main player, you may specify
which Challenge Card your opponent must play. If the opponent has
that card, he must play it. If he doesn't have the card, he can play
whatever he wants.
HISTORY: Once an ancient race of wandering fortune tellers, the
Visionaries have recently stirred debate among philosophers throughout
the cosmos. Does the mystic sight of the Visionary merely foretell
the future, or does it shape it? This intellectual debate between
advocates of causationism and free will has masked the alarming growth
of the Visionary empire. The Visionaries themselves loathe logic and
philosophy, preferring a more intuitive approach to the problems of
cosmic domination.

Wild: As a main player, you may name a specific card. Each player
then secretly shows you that card if he has it or any other card if he
doesn't have it.
Phase 7
Super: You can use your power even if you are not a main player, but
you must specify which player you are addressing.
PULSAR
Phase 7
Con: As main player against Visionary on a planet base, if you have
the card he told you to play, you may abort the challenge. If you are
offensive player, your turn ends. If he is offensive player, he gets
the base, but you do not lose it. Allies return their tokens to
bases.
Phase 7
Pro: You may name two different Challenge Cards. If your opponent has
either, he must play one of them.

When another player rolls dice for movement, you may designate one of
the dice to be a specific number of your choice.
Commentary: This is a combat power. I used to not care for this
power. I agree there is strength to it. Telling your opponent to
play a Compromise Card is standard. Sometimes you might go for a low
Attack Card such as 6 or 8 which are somewhat common. For the most
part, using the power is a guess. If you guess correctly, terrific.
If not and lose the challenge, you would have lost the challenge
anyway.
Still, the power just didn't appeal to me. However, I once did choose
Visionary when given the choice. In the power selection process,
players chose three out of four. It just so happens that my fourth
choice was worse than Visionary, in my opinion. I forget what it
was. I did get effective use of the power. I never thought it a
useless, terrible power, just unappealing to me. I would pass it if
given the choice and a better power, in my opinion, was available, but
I have no regrets if for some reason I must play the power.
