Power Of The Day -- UPS

by Hadsil <forumite@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 5, 2008 at 08:24 AM

UPS Phase 2, 7

Makes Deliveries

You have the power to deliver. On any challenge before cards are
revealed, another player may pay you Lucre to mail cards of his choice
from his regular hand to any player (including himself or you). He
may pay 2 Lucre to mail one card, 4 Lucre to mail two or three cards,
6 Lucre to mail four, five, or six cards, or 8 Lucre for more than six
cards. You take the Lucre and without looking at them, place the
cards face down in the "post office." When a player's color is
actually flipped in the destiny pile, or at the start of his turn
(before he gets a new hand), if he has any mail in the post office,
deliver the cards to him. You may mail cards from your regular hand
to other players by paying the bank. For "express delivery", a player
may pay you 2 extra Lucre, and you must deliver the cards
immediately. If you lose your power, cards in the "post office" are
discarded.

History: As aliens tire of the slowness of the regular cosmic mail
service, they look upon an alternative as a saving grace. While the
UPS is an honest service, they know that all they have to do is wait
for their customers' own subterfuges to undermine themselves.

Use Only In A Game With Lucre

FLARE

Infinity
Wild: When you discard cards for any reason, you may instead give any
or all of them to another player.

Phase 7
Super: You may look at the mailed cards. You may either take one of
them for your hand or discard one.

PULSAR

Infinity
Con: When you are given your mail, after looking at the cards, you may
refuse delivery. They are returned to sender. If UPS was the sender,
he may discard them.

Infinity
Pro: You may look at all cards in the "post office". You can mix them
around but may not change the number of cards in each "mail box".

Eon/Avalon:

Power

1 Lucre to mail one card. 2 Lucre to mail two or three cards. 3
Lucre to mail four, five, or six cards. 4 Lucre to mail more than 6
cards. Add 1 Lucre for express service.

Flare

No Changes

Pulsar

No Changes

Experience Rating: Advanced

Cosmic Monopoly

Long version only. $10 to mail one card, $20 to mail 2 or 3 cards, $30
to mail 4 or 5 cards, +$10 for each additional 1 or 2 cards. Add $10
for express service.

Commentary: This is a Lucre power from Matt Stone's set. This is a
cute power. In a way it's beneficial for all since they can get rid
of their bad cards at a much cheaper rate compared to spending 10
Lucre to discard one card. As a bonus, they go to someone else. If
Visionary is known to predict Compromise Cards often, a player can
mail his away and not worry about it.

There are reasons for a player to mail cards to himself. For example,
they can protect cards from expected consolation, especially from
Violin. Players have incentive to use UPS, who would get a nice
income. Unlike Lloyd, Force, and Peddler, UPS can benefit from his
own power, which is terrific.

You can play the Wild Flare if you are Hand Zapped.
