TRUNCATOR Phase 7
Simplifies Totals
You have the power to shorten. As a main player in a challenge, after
cards are played but before they are revealed, you may call out
"truncate". Once final totals are calculated, the outcome is
determined by the last digit of each side's total. Negative totals
remain negative.
FLARE
Interphase
Wild: At the start of your turn, you may cause the number of external
bases needed to win the game be permanently decreased by one. This is
for all players.
Phase 8
Super: If you have truncated as offensive player and there is a tie,
you win the challenge.
PULSAR
Phase 7
Con: As main player against Truncator, he may only truncate before
challenge cards are played.
Phase 8
Pro: After final challenge totals are calculated, you may untruncate.

Cosmic Monopoly
Long version only. Power as is.
Commentary: This is a combat power from Matt Stone's set. This is a
difficult power to play against. You want a good challenge total just
in case there is no truncation, yet at the same time you want your
challenge total to end in a 9, 8 minimum. Spending Lucre to increase
challenge totals becomes more potent, especially after Challenge Cards
are revealed.
Reinforcements also become more valuable. With truncation,
Reinforcements add to the normal challenge totals, not the final
truncated number. If a player has a 19 challenge total, a +2 makes
the total 21 with a truncated value of only 1. Truncator is equally
vulnerable to other players' Reinforcement Cards, but the choice to
truncate is an advantage because Truncator can go for regular
challenge totals while his opponent has to worry about ending as close
to 9 as possible. Truncator/Reserve is a super combo.
Lyndon, for its power, ignores the truncation. Traitor, per its
power, comes into play after the truncation. Hence, Truncator should
never use its power when opposing Traitor. Loser and Anti-Matter are
treated normally for the truncated values. Virus, Warpish, Warrior,
etc., have their totals calculated before the truncation.
