Power Of The Day -- Reagan

by Hadsil <forumite@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 20, 2008 at 09:44 AM

REAGAN Infinity

Sells Own Resources

You have the power of arms dealing. After playing a card, instead of
discarding it, you may sell it to another player for Lucre. Any
player may make an offer and you are allowed to negotiate a price.
When you must get a new hand you may sell the cards you are
discarding.

History: The Reagans are a greedy, war-mongering race. Though they
delight in weapons of mass destruction, they like wealth even more and
will sell their weapons to the highest bidder. They know the wealth
generated will trickle down to the poorest of their citizenry, who
will bear arms to overthrow the evil empires of the universe.

Use Only In A Game With Lucre

FLARE

Interphase
Wild: You may spend 25 Lucre to the bank for a random power from the
unused powers. If Cartel is in the game and you are not Cartel, the
Eon price is 7 Lucre. This is a "Use once and discard" Flare for
Ancients.

Phase 9
Super: You may keep all your played cards this challenge instead of
discarding them.

PULSAR

Infinity
Con: Reagan can only sell cards currently in his hand. Once a card is
played he cannot sell it.

Infinity
Pro: You may pay 5 Lucre to the bank to keep one card you played this
challenge.

Eon/Avalon:

Power

Whenever you are to discard a card you may instead sell it to another
player for an agreed upon price in Lucre.

Flare

Wild: You may spend 7 Lucre to the bank for a randomly chosen power
from the unused powers. You have use of the power for the rest of the
game in addition to your current power. Use once and discard.

Super: When a player buys a card from you, get an equal amount of
Lucre from the bank.

Pulsar

Pro: You may buy cards from the discard pile in between challenges.
Pay to the bank 1 Lucre for a Challenge Card or Reinforcement, 2 Lucre
for an Edict or Kicker, 3 Lucre for a Flare, and 5 Lucre for a Pulsar.

Experience Rating: Advanced

Cosmic Monopoly

At the end of your turn, any player may purchase the dice value you
rolled for movement by giving you $50. On a future turn that player
would use that value instead of rolling for movement, then it is used
up. In long version, you sell cards as per the cosmic power for an
agreed price in money.

Commentary: This is a Lucre power created by for my Presidential
series of powers. As with Lloyd it helps to have some salesmanship,
but players might be in the market for the more powerful cards you
played. There is the problem of giving other players valuable
resources, but perhaps you'd really like the Lucre you generate. It
is unusual for me to create a power I'd probably pass when given the
choice, but I might try it once to see how it goes. The economics of
the game will be a factor in how much you can sell your cards.
