I took up David Watson offer to ell his Eon set. I got it in the mail
and read through it. Ah, the memories - raw Cosmic Encounter with no
Mayfair, no personal home made stuff, no Matt Stone home made stuff.
It's like I fell in love with the game all over again.
Now that I have a complete Eon set I've made the decision to convert
my Mayfair set into Eon rules. I'll have to change some powers and
flares, but only procrastination will delay me. It won't be work;
it'll be fun. I am keeping the good things Mayfair added to the game
- Reinforcement cards, the special destiny cards, and new lucre uses.
I will return to Eon lucre rules, but I will add buying a flare for 2
lucre and discarding a card for 3 lucre. I'm still thinking about
whether to allow Eon's recycling of moons or keep Mayfair's not
allowing it, but I am going to Mayfair rules to allow occupying an
empty planet in your own system when you draw your own color in
destiny.
I'm still keeping my Pulsars even though Flares are back to keep when
used. I created them way back in college long before Mayfair. No
reason to abandon them.
