PSYCHIATRIST Interphase, Phase 3
Decides Complexity Of Challenge
You have the power over sanity. As a main player in a challenge you
may call for Sanity or Insanity. For whichever you decide, the
challenge is played as if that particular Edict was played. In
addition, you may forbid the use of Kickers and Reinforcements under
Sanity and force their use under Insanity, but this is optional.
History: Studying the minds of alien races, the Psychiatrists have
diagnosed them all as insane. Only under the proper care of the
Psychiatrists shall sanity return to the cosmos.
FLARE
Interphase
Wild: You may play this Flare after someone plays the Sanity Edict.
You are immune to the Sanity or Insanity Edict. Other players are
still bound by those Edicts. You may use this Flare against
Psychiatrist.
Interphase, Phase 3
Super: You may play this card after you invoke Sanity. You are immune
to your own invocation.
PULSAR
Infinity
Con: You may play this card if Psychiatrist calls for Sanity. You may
play one Flare or Edict.
Infinity
Pro: Under your Insanity, when a target is needed for use of a Flare
or Edict, you determine the target.
Eon/Avalon:

Cosmic Monopoly
Long version only. Power as is.
Commentary: This is a rules power from Matt Stone's set. Insanity is
a new Edict from Matt Stone's set which I've adapted to mine.
Insanity (interphase), when played, forces everyone to use their power
and play all Flares and Edicts in their hand as possible at the first
legal opportunity to do so. Moon effects are also forced. In short,
everything becomes mandatory.
"First legal opportunity" is important to avoid the following: I have
a Cosmic Zap when Insanity is played on my turn. I want to zap
Fungus. However, as the challenge progresses, Fungus is not a main
player or ally; therefore the power never got used. Meanwhile,
Dictator was used. The challenge ends, and I still have the Cosmic
Zap which should have been played because of Insanity. With the
"first legal opportunity" clarification, I had to have zapped Dictator
or another power if used at the same time or earlier. If Fungus
happens to be involved in the challenge after all and adheres to my
tokens, that's too bad. You are not "in the wrong" for not playing a
card there was no opportunity for its use. For example, if I have the
Force Field Edict but there aren't any allies in the challenge, even
though I could technically still play the Edict, there's no cause for
it. You do not have to Zap yourself for whatever Zap you have and
appropriate effect you play. Matt Stone's group may play you have to;
I don't remember.
