PREACHER Phase 7
Converts Tokens
You have the power to sway beliefs. As a main player in a challenge,
before cards are played, you may declare one planet that you share
with your opponent to be an "ideological conference zone." If you win
the challenge, your tokens there have "converted" your opponent's
tokens to your side. Remove his tokens there from the game, and
replace them with tokens of an extra color. These tokens are now
yours. If you lose the challenge, 2 of your opponent's tokens which
have been converted return. He returns them to bases and you must
remove 2 tokens of your secondary color.
FLARE
Interphase
Wild: If you share a base with another player, you may exchange his
tokens on the base with yours from the warp. This is a "Use once and
discard" Flare for Ancients.
Phase 8
Super: If you lose the challenge, your opponent does not get back
tokens, and you do not lose any of your secondary tokens.
PULSAR
Phase 3
Con: Show Preacher this card as main player against him and you share
a base. If you win the challenge, you will get back all your tokens
he has converted
Phase 8
Pro: If you win the challenge, you convert all tokens on the shared
base.

Cosmic Monopoly
Long version only. Power as is with the addition: If your opponent's
Monopoly token is also on the property that is the ideological
conference zone, if you win the challenge you convert the Monopoly
token for a turn. The player loses his next turn. You may, if you
want to, take a turn in his stead. You move that player's Monopoly
token, but you encounter the space. That Monopoly token is considered
your token for all reasons until the end of this extra turn.
Commentary: This is a resource power from Matt Stone's set. I like
this power. I had changed it for my own personal tastes. I don't
recall the exact original wording. This version is probably
significantly different, but the idea at least is from Matt Stone's
set. I don't find this power annoying because it is reasonably
possible to get back your tokens as well as prevent your tokens from
being converted in the first place. Preacher still has to win the
challenge on its own. Playing against it, I'd probably target it for
removal. Not as fervently as I would against Void and *****sor, but I
would keep an eye on it.
Note that if you do not declare an ideological conference zone,
converted tokens are not returned if you lose the challenge.
Likewise, if you lose your power, such as lack of home bases, Wild
Reincarnator, and so forth, converted tokens are yours to keep since
you're unable to declare ideological conference zones. Hence, Insect
and Plant can make good use of the power.
