Current state of backgammon sites

by lmfback <peter.backgren@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 7, 2008 at 10:35 AM

While I'm at it... Been noticing some trends lately that make me feel=20
concerned. Perhaps the amount of cash floating around isn't big enough=20
at the moment? Perhaps some laws are starting to bite (sending off your=20
personal information to Neteller, Paypal etc due to EU requirements=20
surely will scare some people off).

Without naming sites I've seen several noticeable events in the last=20
months.

One site is giving you a "huge" offer every time you deposit. If you=20
click ok, ups, thanks for your deposit. For a 50e deposit you might get=20
a 94e counteroffer. For a 20e deposit 234e is just one click away. But,=20
I'm sure this works very well during weekends when there are a lot of=20
drunks around. Extremely questionable IMHO.

The number of phone calls from one site has risen exponentially.=20
Anything to get a cash inflow. You can haggle for a better offer :).

One site has moved away from it's low cash freerolls and you now play=20
for bonus points that when ac***ulated can be traded for a freeroll=20
with enough cash. This is actually just a good thing. I never liked=20
seeing small amounts of cash just floating away from the site into the=20
pockets of those that need a buck or two. I doubt it generated a lot of=20
positive cash flow in the end. And that is easily verified by looking=20
at their player database.

Anyone else noticed this trend?
