Time for a new Amiga gaming expedition I think :)
The two games selected present the some of the best graphics and sound
Amiga
could offer with its native chipset. The gameplay they have offer some
innovatite
features - again a trademark of Amiga game developers back then when
these
games were originally released.
"It Came From The Desert" is a game developed by the late Cinemaware.
Following the footsteps of such classics as "Defender of The Crown",
"Rocket
Ranger" and "Three Stooges", ICFTD is a splendid mix of compelling story
and
somewhat tricky action sequences. Propably best described as a
'interactive
movie' the game offers lots of fun to Amiga adventures out there. It is
easy
to play yet difficult to master - a true Amiga classic.
Many people have fond memories of "RoboCod", but some might remember its
its
predecessor which started the series and also served as a character
basis for
one spin-off. "James Pond - Underwater Agent" seems like a ordinary
platform
game on the surface but offers some unique gaming features. As the game
is mostly played in under water environment it meand less jumping and
more
floating. Due to this the puzzles and hazards the game s****ts are
somewhat
different to the usual platformers.
What makes this game fun is the truckload of secrets and bonuses to be
found
as well as attention to detail seldom found in the games of this genre.
The
levels are well designed, animation of characters and environment is
superb
and the jolly 'James Bond-like' soundtrack created by late Richard
Joseph is
one of the best Amiga games soundtracks ever heard.
Where to find these games then?
First, if you want to buy the full game - second hand copies are
usually
available at various Internet auction sites like EBay.
For disk images, those looking for ICFTD should first stop at the
revived
Cinemaware site,
http://www.cinemaware.com
Register there and download freely the game images from their Vault.
There
is a hard disk installer at
http://www.whdload.de
which works with these images.
You might also want to check the LemonAmiga site for some information,
hints
and screen shots of the game:

For James Pond information check out the LemonAmiga site:

The game used to be available in Back2Roots web site, but until that is
fully
restored I don't know where the game can be downloaded legally. There
are some useful links in LemonAmiga page.
Get them, play them - and when you have done that - come here to discuss
about them.
Let the games begin! :)

Seppo
