Games for December brings you another couple of interesting 3D offerings
from ohhhhh...... some time ago.
The games are Magic Fly, and Tower of Babel (demo).
Seppo has kindly said he will introduce Magic Fly, but I will say a few
words about Tower of Babel.
Can I just say, you should take a look at this, it is very nicely put
together, with a stylish, professional feel.
The demo was originally presented on an Amiga Format magazine cover disk,
and basically...... you have control of three little robots, each with a
different ability. They are the Zapper, the Pusher (God damn the pusher
man!), and the Grabber.
In the game you have to complete a task on each level until you eventually
reach the top.... bit like Interphase then.....? No, its not! :)
I have included the AF description text in the archive, and I won't
elaborate too much here, but mankind is trying to build a tower to reach
God, and sympathetic aliens in a passing space****p present mankind with
the 3 robots in order to help them achieve their objective. Unfortunately,
with mankind being what it is, jealousies arise, and before long a
disgruntled group has sabotaged the various levels with lethal weapons
designed to destroy the valiant trio of robots.
Your task is to guide the robots through the demo level, capturing 3
klondikes within 160 seconds.
This is a very nicely featured demo, with quite an impressive range of
options which you can use or ignore. I have totally failed to solve this,
can you do better? I would love to know how you pull it off.
Its fully mouse controlled, and while its essentially a puzzle, quick
reflexes and a nimble mind will help a lot (so that's me out, then). It
feels a little bit like The Sentinel but actually has an identity all of
its own. So why not give it a try and then discuss-it-up here.
The games which I have put together with WHDLoad generic installs, are

and here (Magic Fly)

Hope you like them.
All the best,
