Anyone familiar with this Infocom text based game?
Douglas Adams is my wife's favorite author, so I hunted around eBay
and managed to purchase the game for a moderate price.
Apparently it's a A1000 game, and I'm not sure it'll run on my
current set up:
A3000 w/68040 CPU
2MB video memory
136 MB of Fast memory
OS 3.9
1GB SCSI hard drive
I followed the instructions with the game (it's in *mint* condition)
but couldn't load what appears to be the executable - either by CLI
or by double-clicking on the icon. I do however get two different
results.
If I double-click the icon (Hitchhiker), I get a newly opened window
and then nothing. If I type Hitchhiker at the CLI prompt, I get
'command not found' error. Even if I qualify it as DF0:Hitchhiker,
I get the same answer.
I have an A1000 in storage, but was hoping to get it to run on the
A3000.
Any suggestions?
