Not seen that one, but I did work through 'Visual Basic Game Programming
with DirectX' by Jonathan Harbour and Andre Lamothe some time back.
Whilst the books are intros to games programming they are not intros to
programming, they do assume a certain level of working knowledge of
Visual Basic to start with. Nor are they intros to game design, but that
is another matter.
If you've not used Visual Basic before I'd look for a few intros to that
first. You should be able to find some 'first steps' examples on the
web, no point buying a book yet, also have a look at the Programmers
Guide included in the MSDN/help files.
