[OT] Python or Lua or others?

Hi all,

    I am new to game industry and I am currently planning to pick up one 
scripting language just to make myself more marketable. I wonder for a 
beginner, would Python be a better choice or Lua or some other scripting 
language like Perl or Ruby? I have seem claims of games using Python and 
others claiming Lua is used, not exactly sure about the rest.

    I am pretty sure each have its pros and cons so I am more interested
in 
a poll to see how common are each of these languages in game industry
rather 
than a Python vs Lua war. Thanks.
