Bird flight physics

Hi

I have just started looking into simulating the flight of a large bird
(like eagles and vultures) with flapping, gliding, turning, landing and
takeoff, and was wondering if anyone is familiar with any resources
like papers, articles, books etc that might be helpful.

So far my googling has not produced very interesting results.
