It is relatively easy to find all kinds of statistics on games (growth,
sales, demographics, titles, etc.). It is also easy to find some job
related info (salary survey, job titles, location, etc.). However, I
have yet been able to find anything on the number of people employed in
the industry. I know that is rather a broad topic, as there are many
different categories of jobs in the "games industry", but I can't find
anything even remotely on the topic.
The best I have been able to do is the Bureau of Labor and Statistics
on general topics like "computer programmer" or "computer software
engineer" (which, by the way, is a difference I don't completely grasp,
but that's another topic)
So, does anyone have references to the number of people employed in the
game industry. Don't be picky, I'll take anything at the moment.
