I'm a compute programmer, but have very little (ok . . . absolutely zero)
experience making games.
I'm not trying to compete with anyone here, but I'm hoping that I could
make
a game which is fun enough that I could play it for a few hours without
getting bored.
My problem is, I cannot draw . . . at all.
I realize that this is a huge endeavor, so I have to start somewhere.
I am going to start with a street fighter style screen board, and focus on
making the game challenging, engaging, balanced and extremely fast paced
(something that I seem to have trouble finding in a game). By balanced, I
mean that all measures have counter measures, but not in a puzzle box type
way, moves still have to be properly executed.
My question is this: What can I expect in outsourcing (I'm envisioning
something like www.rentacoder.com, plz suggest if you know something
better
for this)
What questions should I ask? What should I expect? How much should I
expect to pay? What do I need to ask for.
In the final version of the game (I am going to make it Zelda II
Adventures
of Link Style) I will need tile sets, good characters, monsters, heros,
players, backdrops, board items, spell and weapon sprites, etc. etc.
Should I break this up into multiple bids?
Any advice would be appreciated
