I remember Altered Beast as the pack-in for the Genny 1 initially.
Whenever it talked, everything on the screen stopped until it was done
talking. The speech was close, but not on the money. Other games since
then, I can't concur that they all sounded as good as the arcade,
especially any games that had stereo sound in the arcade. The SNES did
far better on sound, as the Genny had FM synthesis that could be
manipulated successfully to play waveforms, whereas the SNES had a DSP
that operated in cooperation with its CPU and could produce stereo sound.
