crackes cd doesn't work on WIN2000

Hello fellow gamelovers

I have just installed win2000 on our PC's and suddently my copied Cd
doen't
work.
Only my original cd wokrs even the cracked empires2.exe file is copyed to
the HDD.

Could anybody help??
