This sounds like an intermittent problem I had three years ago with Age of
Kings. The screen would at times begin scrolling toward a board edge.
Usually this happened during a battle when I was clicking around all over
the board very quickly. I can't remember now in which direction it
scrolled,
it may have been toward the top. Whenever this would occur I could only
get
it out of this routine if I moved the cursor in the same direction the
screen was scrolling. I know that's counterintuitive, but it worked and I
would regain control. I likened it to steering a car in the direction of a
skid in order to regain control of the car. I never knew the cause. Some
in
this group suspected it was a mouse problem. A few months later I
installed
The Conquerors expansion and I never saw the problem again. So I stopped
researching the cause.
