New to AOE Conquerors comments

by "Laurence Wilmer" <l.d.wilmer@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sep 7, 2003 at 02:08 PM

Probably been much discussed, but I can't find a thread...

Just got AOE Conquerors, good fun, but what really strikes me is:

1. Wouldn't any game developer have known and played Command & Conquer,
and
so known the importance of the Ctrl-Function key bookmarks for marking
spots
on the map?

2. Equally Total Annihilation, the ability to assign units produced by a
specific structure to a previously numbered group.
That gets especially important in the one I've just done, Attila campaign
against Orleans castle - there is no way to win with pre-formed groups,
have
to keep creating units and then there is no time to group and control
them.

Just wondered if any reason had come to light why these venerable and
well-established RTS features had been left out?

Thanks,
(Years behind, I guess!)
Laurence
