There is a problem with that. Tinsley was an avid student of the
game. He defeated the best computer program of his day. As programs
improved he would have continued to study the game using the
programs. So Tinsley would have improved along with the best programs
around.
I presume you have read "One Jump Ahead", the account of the Tinsley-
Chinook matches.
