Hi everybody,
I just bought an Ultimate Doom CD that I found by accident in a "rummage
stand" in a computer store. I only owned Doom 2 (floppy) before and am
now able to play Ultimate Doom with JDoom.
One thing that striked me was that Ultimate Doom was playable from CD.
This came in handy as we are allowed to play after work in office, but
only when the program is not installed on the harddisk (yeah, stupid
rule, no JDoom, need DOS boot disk, etc.). On

I read that Doom 2 is
playable from cd too.
Now I need the files from the \doom2\doom2cd directory to be able to
play Doom 2 also from CD. I do *not* need the wad file, as I already
have it from my floppy disk version. Just XXDOOM2.EXE, XXSETUP.EXE and
the .BAT and .TXT files (assuming filenames are similar to the ones of
the Ultimate Doom cd).
I couldn't find an official download for an "cd upgrade"? (id's homepage
also seems to be in an unfinished state)
Does or can somebody offer these files?
I don't know about the legal aspect of this. The game itself (the WAD
file with the game data) wouldn't be copied, and the Doom 2 sourcecode
for the executable is publicly released for free. Should be ok, doesn't
it.
Or can I somehow create this special Doom 2 excecutable with the
released sourcecode? If so, how?
