"I sought to combine interaction on the board with card and dice play,
to find a balance between luck and skill, to avoid repetition and to
ensure that no game is over until it's actually over. I instilled some
'dry' humor and then countered it with a dynamic of suspense and
tension that extends to the very last roll of the dice".
"Choice and how well it is exercised is as important in Breakscore=AE as
it is in life. Players of the game can choose which dice to score,
whether to sit or to take a chance and roll on, to take a card or not,
or to zap an opponent or not. Players can even choose to take a
calculated risk and not follow certain game rules despite the
consequences of being caught out - not your average board game by any
means"!
