Advancing Hordes Dice & Miniatures (http://www.ahdm.net)
is glad to
announce that Gamescience has reduced its prices on their D16's and
D24's. Therefore we are passing our savings on to our customers, and
have reduced our prices on these cool and unusual hand-inked dice!
The opaque D16's have been reduced from $3.50 USD to $2.50 USD, and
the Gem version (which was $5.50 USD) is now only $3.50 USD. The
Gamescience D24, which is made from the translucent Gem High Impact
plastic, and is more compact than the Koplow D24's, has been reduced
from $7.00 USD to just $3.50 USD!
Of course, the 11-piece Master Set which contains these dice - as well
as the true D3 and true D5, and a full set of matching "normal"
polyhedral shapes - has been reduced accordingly and now sells for
$26.50 USD (reduced from $32.00 USD).
Q. What are the uses for these unusual dice?
A. The D16's are useful for BloodBowl. They are also a good
"in-between" die for use when a d12 doesn't have enough of a range, but
a d20 has too much. In fantasy gaming: a surprised or injured opponent
can roll a D16 for combat instead of a D20 to indicate his
disadvantage. A fatigued or dazed character rolls a D16 to reflect
diminished ability. Really fearsome dragons can roll D16s for hit
points!
As for the D24... well the obvious application is randomizing time. It
also is good as a sort-of super D20, for a to-hit roll... used when the
character involved is somehow blessed. Aparently, the earliest versions
of Dungeons and Dragons provided eight uses for a Tetrakis Hexahedron
shaped die having 24 faces!
Obviously these are "non-essential" dice for most gamers. However, they
are unusual, well made, and fun for those of us who just love to
collect and use off-beat dice.
Advancing Hordes ships worldwide, has secure ordering, and has no
"minimum order" requirement.
