Hey gang! Dunno if anyone lurks round here anymore or not.
I got a new system with onboard video (GF 6100)
I did the whole driver update thing etc etc.
It's a XP Pro SP2 system with a Biostar MB with 1 Gig of ram
It has an Athlon 64 x2 Dual core processor 4200+
I have been forced to use Open GL since D3D framerated fall well down into
the teens
OGL will at least stay in the 20's to 30's (most of the time)
Some levels will get choppy. A player mentioned memory sharing in
passing,
but I'm not sure about that.
My question is:
Would it behoove <sp> me to just bite the bullet and buy a PCI-e (it's an
express slot) video card and disable the OBV
in the bios?
If so, should I stick to Biostar / Geforce video cards only? and should I
get a 128M or go for the gold with a 512M
that has a fan and all the bells and whistles?
Any help would be great.
Thanks

(Oh and sorry for the long Sig. - but it's important)

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here
in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall
be
treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to
discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or
origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet
an
American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance
here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't
an
American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We
have
room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we
have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American
people."
