Dark Forces 2 technical problems...

by Paradox@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Paradox) Jun 1, 2004 at 01:33 PM

Hi, I haven't played Dark Forces 2 in awhile, but I got a hankering
the other day and reinstalled it and MOTS. Unfortunantly, something
goes wrong when I try to use 3D acelleration (see screenshot). If I
disable it, I get terible FPS around transparent objects like the
windows and water. Enabling back buffer to system memory fixes that,
but it causes the game to quit without warning and it doesn't show any
error messages. I just tried reinstalling but it still has the same
problems.

System information:
OS: Windows XP Pro SP1
CPU: 2.20 Ghtz Celeron
Memory: 760 Megabytes RAM (PC2700 I think)
Sound: Onboard Sound
Graphics: Radeon 9000 PCI-card with 128 Megabytes
Driver: Catalyst 6.14.0010.6422
DirectX Version: 9.0b

When I use the "analyze computer" option in the Readme &
Troubleshooting everything passes. Is there anything else I can do?

I've tried monkeying with the "minimum texture" option a bit, but it
hasn't worked either.
