Actually, sorceror is kind of tough for a beginner. To get a sense of game

mechanics, maybe start a wizard...just bolt and run. Or even try one of
the 
melee cl*****. To find out what a spell does, right click on it to bring
up 
a little window with it's name, then hit "i". Also try this:

It does take awhile as the game is a bit deeper than other MMOs, but well 
worth the effort.
