Sorry Rael, but that is actually something referred to as "linking" an
item. "Linking" allows you to share the details of an item with your
group or guild with very little work. This would be done to brag about
a recent acquisition, or to share the stats with a group, so that anyone
who wants the drop/item can have it (However your group decides to
distribute dropped loot).
This is something that was not possible until fairly recently,
previously one had to type out the stats of an item to share the
information with a chat group.
Delving however:
To Delve is, to quote http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=delve
v. delved, delvˇing, delves
v. intr.
1. To search deeply and laboriously: delved into the court records.
2. To dig the ground, as with a spade.
v. tr.
Archaic. To dig (ground) with a spade.
[Middle English delven, to dig, from Old English delfan.]
delver n.
That is the literal meaning of course. In DAoC (And many other games I
have played) it refers to looking deeper into an item to reveal its stat
bonuses, procs, and other benefits.
2 points for trying though.
