Mal, you're seeing it from your point of reference. From an
experienced players point of view. Keep in mind one thing, well
several.
Sean is not only new to DAoC, but *new to MMORPGs*. He is playing one
account from scratch and will not have a bot. He cannot /level.

He is a total newbie to MMORPGs, how long until it would get 'pretty
interesting' for him?
Also as I've said elsewhere, given that DAoC slowly leaks pop over the
next two years which will last longer and remain viable, servers that
cater for The USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand or the ones that
cater for just the British. Sean is just starting out on his DAoC
career. What's the best bet for longevity for someone starting DAoC as
their first ever MMORPG from scratch?

All this, master levels etc., means nothing to him at this juncture
and it will be a long time until it does. Do you remember what it was
like the *first* time you ever played a MMORPG? Pretty daunting? I
know it was for me.

ROTFLMFAO.
Three versions behind now, or is it four? Well it will be four next
week, lol. Never has Mythic had unmitigated disasters like the
infamous Excalibur fiascos and the more recent Prydwen corruption. And
how do you find The Chronicles compare to The Herald? How do you find
GOA's customer sup****t compared to Mythics when you've had to use it.

Again, what's this to Sean? What he wants is a *really well populated
newbie area with no bots and no /level so he can learn the game and be
as competitive as everyone else*. Where he can group and *start having
fun from the get go*.
And YOU may not like the classic servers, and I understand why when
you are well established on Excalibur, but the numbers don't lie. New
players like them and they are drawing heaps of old players back to
DAoC to left because of ToA. And more players left over ToA than for
any other reason, including WoW. Jeez even Mythic have now admitted it
was a mistake and it's their damn game.

See comment above.
And there are plenty of Albions. Otherwise I must be dreaming I'm
fighting them ;). Gareth is very balanced, as is Lamorak now. And
there has always been fotm when a new expansion is released with new
cl*****, or races, available. I agree that Warlocks are insane at the
moment though, but the nerf bat is coming. Vamps are great PvE and in
the battlegrounds but how many claw spammers cut it in the frontiers?
Tri-specced good players do, but the rest?

Again, what's this to Sean? Players on the UK servers are well
established, in good guilds, have good equipment, MLs/Artis and most
have bots. The home invasion server isn't here yet. It may never be.
When it appears, if it does, will it allow bots and /level? Also
Mythic US may add a home invasion server too. I'd bet a some serious
plat on who adds it first :).
A total newbie to MMORPGs, new to DAoC leveling from 1. No friends
in-game and no guild. No bot account. In that situation I know where
I'd start playing and I've been playing MMORPGs since I beta tested
The Realm in '97. It's a no brainer IMHO.
I never said the UK servers were dead, in fact I've said they aren't.
I had a good time in Leirvik the other night. It's the individual
situation of the original poster that is im****tant here. And his
perceptions starting a MMORPG for the very first time will be very
different to yours or mine. I have toons on Excal/Pryd with the
goodies but even given that I know where I'm having the most fun at
the moment by a long chalk.
BB.
