It's not just me by a long chalk, Sean. I think Magnus would back me
up on that one.
>TBH, I wouldn't know a classic server form any other.
Classic servers mean no /level command where folks with a level 50 can
make an instant level 20. Also no buffbots, as you cannot conc. buff
anyone not in your group. Some folks haul a bot around on their ass,
playing two accounts and grouping with themselves, but they die first
because we make sure they do! It's rare on the classic servers though.

A HUGE advantage to you considering that not only are you new to DAoC
but you are new to MMORPGs as well.

I will explain further if we meet in game, or here if necessary. It
will become clearer what "buffing" is when you start to group and play
more.

Apologies. Neither did I at the time. GOA didn't have one as early as
Mythic did.
Really though I'm giving you the best advice I can. I played on the UK
servers for two years. I have invested a lot of time and care into my
characters on the UK servers. Would I have left for no good reason?
The thing is, if you drop the game after a month then it doesn't much
matter if you play UK or US. However if you like the game and stay it
will matter greatly in the long term. And it will change how you judge
the game for the reasons I gave. No matter how much you like the game
itself you will quit if you become frustrated by population levels and
an inability to compete on a level playing field.
And please START play on a classic server, this is *crucial* to you as
a beginner to DAoC and to MMORPGs in general. Once you know the game
you can always roll a character on a standard Trials of Atlantis (ToA)
ruleset server if you so desire.
And now I must go, as there are Albs waiting to DIE.
BB.
