Wow! Another real person that plays the game!
I only recently started playing, thanks to a friend getting me involved.
I've previously played others.. UO, EQ... but eventually gave them all up
out of boredom. This one, however, has promise for me.. Although, the
RvR
seems to need some more work. It's a great system, but thus far, it seems
that he who mezzes first, wins. I think there needs to be more than just
towers and keeps in the frontiers.. perhaps fallen cities/ghost towns
that
hold benefits for the owner.. Places where people can set up 'traps' and
'ambushes' more strategically than the bridges.
One thing that I think is a problem is that every realm has it's own set
of
keeps and towers. Sounds good.. but in order to take them, you must enter
another realms area.. fine.. it happens a lot.. but more often than not,
every single time you start taking over, the very next day, everything
seems
to go right back to the way it was. The late night raids seem to only go
as
far as to restore the lands to the way they once were.. Instead, they
need
a large area that is not designated as anyone's realms, with many places
to
conquer that add benefits and ****ts... The island is a good start, but it
is just going to be pure RvR, with no keeps or other reasons to go there.
It will be great for roaming groups.. but for people looking for
objectives,
it won't add anything to the game. The island will be fun at first, I
think.. mostly due to learning it's layout, and the landmarks.. but after
that, it's going to just be another area to kill and be killed.. We need
more purpose than to 'keep our stuff our color'... There just aren't
enough
players on consistently to make a huge difference to other realms for any
length of time...
