Yeah, managed to get in early on Friday and obtained serial codes from
DLGamer.com - but thankfully didn't require to dl it as I have the US
edition of Catas.
First attempt didn't work as planned as I just copied my directory of US
1.74 and transferred the login.dat and update.dat from my ToA folder,
edited update.dat to point to Catacombs directory and waited as it dl'd
23MB of udates. However this produced weird side effects - one of the Alb
beards stretched off into infinity and whenever I came across a player
with that particular face setting I couldn't see anything except that
beard!
Thankfully fully reinstalling Catas from US discs and doing the login.dat
& update.dat followed by slightly larger 70MB update resulted in me
finally being able to play :-)
Nekkid who afaik is the first level 50 heretic (on Excalibur) dinged at
Taskers, Avalon City yesterday afternoon in the group I was in. My
heretic is only 22 atm because I'm doing it the slower yet more fun way
;-) and exploring the new areas (beating up some mushroom headed
chaps in the Underground Forest with my Reaver) plus getting my 47.5 ice
wizard to 50 is my priority.
Taken much time to explore the new areas?
