That's insane! I use DOSBox 0.72 and Daggerfall takes just 10 seconds or so
to get loaded on my PC. It runs much faster in my emulator than it did
back
when I used to play it on a 386. If you have too little or too many CPU
cycles dedicated to running a game in DOSBox, it can slow down the
performance significantly. Also, unless your PC absolutely requires it,
make
sure your CPU core emulation is set to auto or dynamic. I haven't had to
set
it to full for Daggerfall, which would also serve to slow it down. Hope
