I've never been able to get a slowdown program to run without cra****ng 
my machine. I suppose I should have another go sometime. I think I've 
discovered that DosBox only crashes when in full screen mode, of course 
running DF in a small window is not REALLY what I want to do, so I 
suspect that it might be a problem with the graphics driver. But since 
I've had the problem with at least three versions of the drivers I don't 
  have much hope of another version solving things. And at least one 
other program that I use regularly started cra****ng last time I upgraded 
them, and I had to use a version in between the one I was using and the 
latest.

Does it then USE the run skill to work out how/whether you climb?
