Unless I am remembering wrong, the quest for Chrysemere starts with
the Fighters Guild. I could be wrong, of course. The only rewards
you get from the Knights are pieces of armor when you advance and a
house when you reach the top. All of the Knights quests are dungeon
crawls.
The Fighters Guild offers several simple quests. The simplest -- go
clean out the rats/bats from a house offers no reward other than
adding to your reputation with the Guild. It says you will get a
monetary reward, but there is a bug and you never get paid. You also
get quests to kill other animals in houses (which do pay), a quest to
take care of a pesky imp and a bodyguard quest, none of which involve
going into dungeons. On the other hand, one of the Fighters Guild
quests is quite complex and often takes months of game time to
complete. This is the one where you are sent meet with someone at 10
o'clock at night.
