Um, not come across any sort of comprehensive guide sort of thing.
But just remember that elephants kill everything in their path. But
only if you use them wisely in a battle you play yourself. If you let
the computer decide for you, then your elephants will always die
unnecessarily.
Other than that, Spartan Hoplites are very strong, even against
elephants.
But the Roman Legionnaries basically decimate anything put in front of
them, be it artillery, archers, horsemen, infantry, etc.
Other than that, I've found that the archers play an im****tant role in
my battles. And cavalry. Cavalry are the deciding factor of any
battle. Archers and cavalry.
Unless you're Roman. If you're Roman, the only army you should have is
of Legionnaires. And throw in a few horses. And some archers if you've
got good ones.
Ask me about a civ and I'll tell you the basic strat.
All the above is for RTW.
For BI, I haven't really played it as much so I am not that sure. But
the Eastern Romans are much stronger than the Western Romans. The
Hunnic cavalry are pretty powerful, if used right. But they still can
be defeated easily if controlled badly.
