Hello all,
I recently purchased the fantasy collection "Magic" by Isaac Asimov,
paperback edition 1997, ISBN 0 00 648203 1, Voyager Publishing (a brand of
HarperCollins) and while I was reading it, I discovered that page 226 has
not been printed as a whole.
Page 225 ends on this line:
"altogether and think it would be delightful if we spoke of"
Then page 226 starts on this line, while it is clearly seen on the page
that
there is more text above (the previous line seems trimmed above, on the
paper page):
"If the nonexistent background is one that might conceiv-"
and ends on this line:
"tasy," in which the characters are larger than life. In this"
And there is a huge blank space, which it connects with the next page,
227.
If anyone has a copy of the book, that is a whole and has no printing
problems, will be too much of me to ask kindly of you to send me a
transcript of the essay with the title "Fantasy"? I would be asking for
page
226 only, but I have no idea the renumeration on your copy.
That essay starts with this line:
"Some readers have been objecting to a few stories we have pub-"
and ends on these lines:
"when I have written enough of them, I will collect them"
"into a book."
I have contacted the official HarperCollins website, but as I know that
this
very book is OUT of Print, I do not think that they will be able to
provide
me with a new replacement copy. Besides, it is only that one page I am
interested in. The rest of the book is fine as it is.
Thank you in advance for any information.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Iakovos:)
