During the Holiday season quite a lot of individuals will be inclined
to go out and buy a game such as Generals, Generals-Zero Hour and
the rest that are put on the market by Electronic Arts.
If you have ever considered to do such a thing, first and foremost
prepare to be cursed by the individual for whom you've bought the
game.
Here is why:
most of the EA games are full of splash screens that look very nice
on their own, however, the performance of the game is very inferior when
the alternatives are taken into consideration.
The online option of the EA games is very poor in performance, very, very
slow
even with 512k ADSL, the imbeciles at EA blame the ISP, which is rubbish.
due to the poor performance of the EA games, I am inclined to believe that
they
have been written in JAVA or by C/C++ idiots.
quite often the user will encounter hardware compatibility issues which in
order
to solve them it will require a major hardware upgrade, such as
motherboard,
video card, hard disk, extra RAM and so on, which escalates the cost of
the
game and problems.
Another turn-off is the fact that EA games use the GameSpy network, which
again
slow the game performance (my best advice, look on the box, if you see the
word
GameSpy, dropped like a hot potato, because is junk, on borders on
individual's
privacy).
The worst aspect is the overall user interface, be prepared to go through
something
like 8 to 10 different screens until the user will reach the option that
will enable
him/her to play the game.
