So in another thread, voice communications have been mentioned, just
wondering how many out there are using ventrillo? I got used to it when
playing Auto Assault, but haven't even really tried it in CoX yet.
In Auto Assault, the ventrillo server was set up by the different clans...
I'm assuming that in CoX some big SGs and/or coalitions might have done
something similar, but I haven't really seen much mentioned about it.
Just
out of curiousity, anybody considered hosting an AGCOH vent server? I
would, but my connection can be a bit on the unreliable side... And
ironically, I have double the upload speed as download speed, which is
pretty much ass backwards from normal. Still, I'm thinking about trying
the
server side just to be able to have teammates connect, nothing bigger than
8
users should be ok for bandwidth.
Oh, and for Amigoid: setting up vent is really pretty easy, you can set
it
up to auto-detect your voice or have push-to-talk (recommended if you have
a
noisy household or are prone to spontaneous outbreaks of
frustration-induced
tourette syndrome). The hard part is synchronizing to the same server.
Once you are in, you can sit in the "lobby" or move off to separate
channels, create channels if you need to, lock down channel access, etc.
All fairly intuitive. Hmmm, now that I think of it, server specific vent
servers would be quite cool, make it much easier to find your teammates.
