Well, the gaming gods were smiling last night. Started my level 2
peacebringer (FREEDOM) "Father Payback" and looked around for any
other lowbies to start out. I found a couple defenders, recruited
them, then recruited them for the supergroup. Another 2-3 broadcast
that they were old players getting back into the game and looking for
a SG. Bing. Another couple guys saw our group forming and asked for
openings. Before I knew it I had a full 8 person team, all signed
up for the SG and tearing through missions. Then we chewed through
the sewers, then to wrap up the evening, took on the series of
Safeguard missions in KR. This may be old hat for you guys, but we
managed to clear all the secondary missions after foiling the bank
robbers. We swept around the Atlas park submap and beat down all the
vandals just as they were being announced. With a minute and a half
left, we were searching every inch of the map to find ANY villians. I
think we cleared the last one with 10 seconds left. Is there a badge
or notifier that lets you know all the bad guys in the zone are gone?
Perhaps they respawn... long evening, but everyone leveled multiple
times (I went from 2 to 7). Plus I gave all the new recruits tours of
the base, did a lot of hand-holding for new players, and oldies that
needed updating were brought up to speed, and passed out the 20,000
inf we give to new recruits. Tons of Prestige earned too, so more
than half got their first promotion. Everyone was jazzed, and I can
bet we have another cluster of Sg players that will team together.
Father Payback was an old Ent, older than the lands the aliens found
him in. He had strayed from the depths of the woods in Croatoa, and
was ambushed by Redcaps. His legs chopped off and left for dead, his
only hope for survival was to merge with a Peacebringer. He now
fights to free the mystical lands from evil and make it safe for the
good fairy-folk.
(I was tired, and my kids had me click on the random costume multiple
times. After laughing at the improbable combos, we found this angry
old geezer with a long beard in grey-green, with a army helmet, one
large gauntlet and robotic beast legs. We tweaked the colors, added a
celtic blend, and made a few other minor changes with a trip to the
Icon store (free makeover token) Voila, inspiration struck.)
Wow, the PB chars are energy-blasting machines. You certainly aren't
lacking for blast options with these bad boys. I two slotted bright
nova with accuracy mods and one-slotted the 4 attacks with accuracy.
(Actually I always slot accuracy first on any attack power I get.)
