Dark Sun (Wake of the Ravager), AD&D Collector's Edition, and
some others, but these are the ones that I am about to try first,
or have already started on (which is AD&D Pools of Radiance).

Tried the 2nd one once, but didn't like the viewpoint; prefering

That could be the one I've got now, too.

I never got into any of the pre-7 Ultimas, nor Pagan. What I like
to dig out now and again is Ultima 7 (a&b). Played Ultima 7 II to
the end once (well, twice, the second time with the cheat on),
but didn't like having to follow the read thread so tightly.
Utima 7 I is so great because I can run around where I like,
doing whatever I like and as long as I like.
