Saves games are unaffected with the unofficial patch.
In answer to the OP, when the new official patch (finally) comes out, it 
will overwrite the dll file from the unofficial patch.
(unless it actually "patches" the file, in which case you will need to 
restore the original dll. You did back up the original didnt you :P)
