Civ4 - Disapearing improvements.

With no one getting to the tech level of being able to get spies I 
notice that here and there a farm, road, or mine disappears.

I saw this in older Civs too. Is it me or a bug? Ver. 1.61

Thanks

BTW 1.61 is the latest upgrade for the regular game?
