Shaka the Idiot

by "Öjevind Lång" <bredband.net@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 21, 2008 at 03:23 PM

I enjoyed winning culturally with Elizabeth so much that I repeated the
performance again. And who turned up but not my old enemy Shaka? And just
like before, he started a war against me and simply refused to sue for
peace. Not only was his war production much inferior to mine, but even
after
I had won mycultural victory and once more suggested to him that we make
peace he refused. Of course, now I can lower my culture rate to 10% (I
have
all the modern entertainment wodners and quite a few other goodies), keep
my
espionage at 10% and invest the rest in research, I 'd catch up wth
Gilgamesh, who's tops in research, pretty soon - running Representation
and
having Wall Street, the University of Oxford and the headquarters of
Creative Jewelry and Sid's Sushi in London would see to that. (Besides,
I'm
not all that far from finishing the Internet; If I should lose that race,
I'd simply get a lot of money to update troops with instead, so that would

not be a big deal.) And now that many resorures are no longer tied up
producing culture, I can churn out military units at a pace that Shaka
won't
be able to match, no matter how hard he tries. I'm seriously considering
taking up the game and crushing Shaka and his vile vassals, Ragnanr and
Napoleon, but in the meantime, I'm starting a game with Kublai Khan,
aiming
for a diplomatic or space victory.
Oh, and this time I was compared to Lech Walesa, so that wasn't too bad.
