I installed Civ 4 on my Vista laptop with zero issues.  Spend some 
time getting comfortable with Vista first before during any program 
installs and you should be fine.

I have NOT tried a multi player connection with the Vista, though.  
If any issues do come up, I predict that this is where you will 
discover them.
